Introduction

This is a research project for analysis on E-commerce Transaction broker.
The objective
of this project is to learn and share the knowledge by investigating on a particular example.
My focus would be on ZUJI, an online travel agency owned
by Travelocity, an international leader in online travel. Travelocity is owned by Sabre Holdings Corporation, a world leader in travel commerce.




Before we look into this online travel guru, let us first understand the meaning of
E-commerce Transaction Broker.

Electronic commerce a.k.a electronic marketing, consists of the buying and selling of products or services over electronic systems such as the Internet and other computer networks.
On the other hand, a transaction broker is an intermediary who bridge between both the buyer and seller. He handle the transaction over both parties, but holds no responsibility in any event of default. In return, he will earn commission from the transaction.
Hence, an "E-commerce transaction broker" is simply putting such idea
online.
It has not only created more market opportunities, but also add convenience to potential customers around the globe.

Purpose

Speaking of convenience, ZUJI created a platform that allows travellers to source for their flights, ideal accommodation and other travel needs anywhere at anytime. Traveller no longer have to visit travel a
gency and hotels physically and individually.
The power of information system allows them to gather data across the globe with just movement of their fingertips.
This is even better when ZUJI collates all related information of most airlines and accommodations across countries into a linked platform. They also provide bundle packages and offer promotions. Even making payment is just a few clicks away!

Design

The design of zuji.com is user-friendly and very attractive.

Already bombarded by seductive prices and promotions that appeared on the front page of the website.



There are also recommendations and ranking of destinations, exhibited with gorgeously colourful pictures.


They also provide quick links and site map for easier navigation.



Strengths

The awesome design layout is already one obvious strength.

On top of that, look at their amazing package offer and discounts!


Travel guides are provided with relevant information. The information are summarized and informative.



They facilitate customers by providing other relevant travel need products.


Tailored need for different customer groups, they really do understand their customers.

They show warm concern with their customer care services.


You can even read interesting travel stories shared by customers in different region.




Among all these extra features,


they also provide basic information on:
Hotels details, pictures, maps and hotel reviews and ratings.



Prices and details of all available flights among different airlines


Furthermore, in 2005, 2006 and 2007, "ZUJI was recognised as Asia Pacific's 'Best Online Travel Agent' awarded by TTG travel magazines in Asia Pacific. ZUJI was also awarded as the 'Best Online Travel Agency' in 2007 by the TravelWeekly (Asia) Industry Awards. I faced some problems while exploring the web page.
